Walking & Climbing
Scourie Community Development Company has started a series of footpath renewal / creation schemes.
Stage 1 was to create a new path from the Council yard at the S end of the village, to the top of Cnoc a' Bhuthain where there is a viewpoint over the village and bay, picnic table and seat. The path continues around the hill to Loch a' Bhadaidh Daraich at the N end of the village. This forms a circular route, returning by walking along the road back into the village. The circular route is 2.75 miles in length, and surprisingly gentle to walk.
Further projects are in progress to upgrade the "old peat road", which will further expand the walks to the South of the village.
A leaflet has been published, which can be downloaded here. A PDF file (saves to your download folder), best printed double sided on A3 paper.
